As consultants, it is important for us to help not only our clients but the community in which we operate. That’s why we ensure everything we do is ethically sound and responsible.
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues facing the world today. At Kirkwood Consulting, we believe we have a responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint.
We have cut our waste and emissions by 45% in the last 2 years and, since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, our team has worked remotely. This has reduced our carbon footprint to nearly 100% and, in order to keep it as close to zero as possible, we will continue to work remotely for at least 3 days per week once the pandemic subsides. We are a paperless office and recycle all other materials used by our team.
Kirkwood Consulting is a paperless business. Since the start of the pandemic, we have operated on a digital basis and rarely print anything. We intend to continue this post-Covid-19.
Kirkwood Consulting has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, trafficking or forced labour. We are committed to operating ethically in all areas of our business, including our supply chain and third-party relationships.
As an organisation, we regularly monitor, implement and review the systems and controls that we have in place to ensure modern slavery is not occurring anywhere in our business or our supply chain.
Where appropriate, we prefer to work with suppliers holding the ISO 14001 environmental accreditation. This standard improves the manufacturing processes carried out by our suppliers.
Our Health & Safety Policy is key to ensuring the continued wellbeing of our employees and clients. Our handbook details best practice for a safe working environment and is given to all employees upon joining the company. Regular risk assessments are carried out to review and improve working conditions, and all clients are informed of relevant health and safety procedures at the beginning of each course.
Kirkwood Consulting embraces flexible working for all our employees. We believe that accommodating family commitments is key to the foundations and principles of the business, which why we provide a childcare scheme for our employees as well.
Kirkwood Consulting believes in giving back to the community in which we operate. As part of our ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ ethos, all excess training and office equipment is donated to local charities and Horton Kirby School.
We also believe in supporting and enabling our employees to give back as individuals. This is why we provide three ‘volunteer days’ for everyone in the company, which can be spent with our chosen charitable organisation or on a personal charitable project.
